How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I make Leafy Lampshades using new media combined with real natural pressed leaves foraged in the surrounding area and into Wales.
These are laminated into sheets and then formed into simple drum shapes, which contain the (sometimes harsh) electric light. This transmutes the light as it passes through and illuminates the leaves into a different form.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an Artist for me, means being able to follow and express what is uniquely inside me, whilst holding a strong belief that beauty and functionality belong together.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

Mixed media and Seasonal Crafter.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I work from my Studio upstairs at The Old Shoe Shop in Kington.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I was lucky enough to train in”Art and Design in a Social Context” at Dartington College of Arts in the early eighties, and continue to be motivated and inspired by the whole ethos of that place and time.

Your gallery outlets/stockists:

Flock Gallery in Church Street, Kington and The Old Chapel Gallery in Pembridge.
