Details

How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I’m always trying to capture the essence of a place, not only the outstanding but the ordinary - something which triggers a response from the viewer.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Art allows both freedom and imagination. Applying both brings a sense of adventure and I’m happy to explore where my art will take me.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

A landscape artist working mainly in pastels with occasional forays in oil.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I work mostly on my own but enjoy workshops, particularly plein aire. I enjoy both the American and Australian pastel scene and derive inspiration from both.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

A year’s A level at Wycombe College of Art then years later a reignited interest in botanical art, acrylics and finally pastels!
