How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I create one off “mini wearable sculptures” from precious metals and stones. I love to bring new life to old pieces of jewellery hidden away in drawers, re-modelling them into new modern heirlooms, but most importantly, turning them into something that will worn and enjoyed.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist is just something that is a part of me. I’ve always been an artist for as long as I can remember and don’t think I could ever be anything else!

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I’m an Ethical Designer/Goldsmith

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I’m a remodelling specialist, turning old and unworn jewellery into new pieces that can be worn and enjoyed again. Many of my commissions are for bespoke wedding, engagement and eternity rings.
I also run workshops for couples to make their own wedding or engagement rings, small group jewellery making workshops/experience days and offer private tuition.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I have a degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing from Birmingham School of Jewellery, but most of my technical skills have been learned afterwards and refined over many years of practice.
I am also a fully qualified teacher of secondary (KS4/5) Design and Technology.
