How would you describe the work you do and why?
My practice is all about form, light and touch. I make functional pieces in porcelain and stoneware, using a mix of glazes, brushed and dipped, to reflect the muted tones of the Welsh landscape of my home near Hay-on-Wye.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I am a ceramicist, writer and farmer.
Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:
Excited and grateful to have found this passion, I hope slowly and quietly to make pots worthy of lifelong love and use in the home. Alongside my practice I organise courses and workshops for potters, and enthusiasts, of all levels of experience.
CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:
I trained as barrister had a career as a documentary producer before discovering the creative and therapeutic magic of the potter’s wheel. I have been lucky enough to be taught by some immensely talented ceramicists; Katharina Klug, Kyra Cane, Chris Keenan, Simon Hulbert, Jeremy Stuart, all of whom have played a part in my unfolding pottery journey.
Exhibitions in the last 3 years:
I have exhibited at the International Ceramics Festival, Edward Bulmer Natural Paint, The Chair, Found Gallery, Herefordshire Art Week, Larchwood Studios and Spring Gallery.
