How would you describe the work you do and why?: 

I work mainly using porcelain because I like its translucency and how it speaks through the application of textures and oxide colouring.
Sometimes I use porcelain as the vehicle for slumping and dropping clear glass through the spaces which are within the sculptural forms and wall works that I make.
I also make bowls, vases, t-light holders all in different sizes.

For you what does being an artist mean?: 

For me it is being able to express ideas through the manipulation of materials clay and glass.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?: 

Designer/maker using clay and glass

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching: 

My partner and I work from our home and garden studio in the southwest facing part of the malvern Hills. 'Made in the Purlieu' is the name of our practice and website.
