How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I am dedicated to the crafts of hand and machine embroidery, mixed media fibre art, and anything that involves sewing, paint, fabric and design. I love natural wool, linens and silks and often incorporate my own hand-spun threads and yarns into my work. I use dyes and printing techniques and am forever trying something new! An experienced tutor I love to inspire and enable creativity.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

To reflect back some of the beauty of creation in my own 'sub-creations', innovatively using the beautiful natural materials we have to hand.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

A contemporary embroiderer and textile artist.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I have delivered textiles workshops for many years, both in my studio, at Westhope College, for Shropshire Council and for textiles groups such as the Embroiderers' Guild, Quilters Guild and WI. I have taught C&G courses, summer schools and day workshops.
I have also exhibited with Textiles groups and sold at shows with the Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Craft.
