Details
How would you describe the work you do and why?
I create images sourced from dreams and shamanic journeys . My experience as a shamanic practitioner inspires me. I love working in colour and find peace in making unique work which I hope connects with others to bring happiness and enjoyment. I also have illustrated a series of children's books and co written a book of poetry about cats.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
Being an artist is innate and a major part of my life. I have retired from work as a holistic therapist and paint most days in my home studio.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
Intuitive Painter and Illustrator
Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:
Mainly I work on my own and don't seek to run workshops but give casual advice if asked. At 80 I am almost a hermit .
CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:
I studied printed textiles in my youth and this led to working in carpet design . However this was restrictive and later I trained as a therapist and worked in Leominster as an intuitive healer for over 30 years.
Exhibitions in the last 3 years:
I exhibited at Kingsland Church in 3 years but during the last year have concentrated on commissions for a series of book jackets
