My work is related to my love of nature and my relationship to the spirit within the form. I use oils and inks on canvas, paper and paint according to my mood and the evolving seasons. Myths dreams and shamanic journeys weave together and I allow myself the freedom to change and work intuitively.
Painting is an integrated part of my life. I worked as a therapist for many years until my retirement. I feel so lucky to have this time in my later life to have the joy of painting in my local studio by the Wye.
I am a painter and facilitator of imaginative and intuitive creativity.
I paint or draw daily, often experimenting with new ways of making marks and although I prefer oils to acrylics I find it convenient to under paint with acrylic and ink because of drying time. My art usually involves several layers. I sometimes put a piece away for a while and then have a good look at it and change it after giving the eye a rest I see it anew.
I am illustrating a book of poetry and short stories at the moment which will be published later this year.
I trained in textiles at Loughborough and then worked as a carpet designer in the Royal Wilton Co. I have two adult children and now after a career as a holistic practitioner in Herefordshire I have the time to focus on art.
