How would you describe the work you do and why?:
I use freehand machine embroidery, incorporating appliqué and paint, to create my designs. This medium gives me the freedom to play around with the fabric, cutting and placing the pieces until I am happy, before using the needle as a pen to apply my design. My work generally takes the theme of nature including flowers and trees.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
The freedom to be experimental and creative with different processes, not knowing what the end result may look like. Being an artist is the enjoyment of making, being able to share the final outcome with others.

Freehand machine embroiderer, using appliqué and paint.
