How would you describe the work you do and why?:

My main creative interest has always been gardening. I started by making sculptures for the garden in wood, steel, stone and glass. I now also make smaller items suitable to be displayed in the home. I love the challenge of using recycled materials where possible and introduce bold colours where I can.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

I find being an artist is great fun, like returning to my childhood and playing all day. I feel incredibly lucky to be in this position and generate an income. I admit I do have more mistakes than successes, but some of my mistakes are actually the pieces that give me the most enjoyment.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I established Arts in the Marches in 2008, organising exhibitions and workshops and promoting artists. I have studied with many local artists and craft makers and gradually gained confidence to explore my own sculpting interests. I now exhibit my own work.
