How would you describe the work you do and why?

Jenny enjoys working on a large scale. Her passion for forged steel was sparked by a taster course at the blacksmithing college in Hereford in 1998 she then went on to study for 3 years at Holme lacy college.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Jenny is passionate about her work creating and designing on a daily basis.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

Jenny is an artist blacksmith working and living in rural Herefordshire, Jenny work is now on five continents of the world with sculpture is in china, Australia , Africa, and America. the combination of forged steel and blown glass inspired by the spirit of nature capturing the strength and delicacy of the natural world.

Jenny does teach short courses at her forge in Herefordshire these can be arranged by Email.. info@jennypickford.co.uk, or phone Jenny 07985246056. Accommodation is avalible in a 1920s showman's waggon set in the sculpture garden at Jenny's house.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

Jenny studied fine art sculpture in Belfast before finding her passion for forged metals with her studies at Holme lacy, it was then that she started glass blowing and has been incorperating glass in her sculptures since 2000.

This year 2026 Jenny will be showing at Malvern spring garden show, A solo show at the bishops palace Wells that will run from May until September Fresh at Quinington Gloustershire June until July
