How would you describe the work you do and why?:

Born in Sweden I draws inspiration from the Scandinavian nature as well as the beautiful Marches border country and beyond. My artwork reflects a positive outlook on life and I want my paintings to convey light, hope, freedom and expectation, in the midst of life. The light is central in most of my recent artwork. I work in a variety of mediums. The main mediums are acrylic and oil, using both brush and palette knife, but I have also developed a passion for charcoal drawing and am exploring the expressiveness of the light and dark that can be achieved in monochrome.
Together with the looser painting style I am also able to draw detailed pet portraits, taking commissions.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Art is a form of expression. Some people can express themselves through words or song. I do it best through painting. It gives me huge satisfaction to squeeze tubes of paint and see the colours that can be achieved when mixing them. When I put the paint on the canvas my heart skip a beat. Signing the finished work makes me feel a sense of pride but also of responsibility that the finished work fairly represents what I set out to convey. Creativity is very important to me and if I can visually communicate hope and light to my audience I have succeeded.
