How would you describe the work you do and why?

I would say that vibrant colours and flowing lines define most of my work, whatever the medium I use. Probably "Expressionist" is the closest label I could attach to my style. However, I am always experimenting and exploring new techniques and art materials as I discover them. This way I hope to keep a fresh look to my output and not get stuck in a safe style. Primarily I please myself as an artist, and hope that other people enjoy it too.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

I suppose I have always felt an urge to express myself artistically even as a child. It allows me to be both an outsider and an insider, observing nature, people and my memories and imagination. It is an essential part of my character and identity. Art allows me the freedom to be by myself or share workshops and debate with other practising artists.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am an artist living by the beautiful River Wye, drawing daily inspiration for my work, whether it's sketching, painting, print making, mixed media or textile and thread art.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I have taught numerous private art classes and outdoor workshops. This has included in recent years teaching Ukrainian refugees art classes in Hereford.

I studied at both Hornsey Art College and Wimbledon School of Art with a Diploma in Fine Art.

Exhibitions in the last 3 years:

I won an h.Art Prize in 2022 for the Old Mayors Parlour Gallery. Large Solo Show at The Courtyard opened by Sir Derek Jacobi My painting was featured on a BBC TV "Imagine Arts Programme" with Alan Yentob 2025 Solo Art Show at The Left Bank 2025 h.Art Show The Left Bank 2024 h.Art Show h.Art at Grange Court, Leominster
