How would you describe the work you do and why?
VISUAL QUEST. I work from nature, photographs and imagination often spotting the germ of a new painting among the impulsive doodles I incessantly dispense, and from which no scrap of paper is safe in our home. The evolving visualisation becomes an instinctive way of organising and testing thought and emotion, often with links to other art forms like music, dance, literature. Commissions of painted portraits and specific landscapes offer the challenge of applying painterly inventions, developed on my personal visual quest, to conventional genre and standards, earning me new insight, amusement and often surprise.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
VANITY CASES. Seducing some ideas and states of mind into forms accessible to the senses, is a contribution of the arts to the enriched human experience. My Dress Up Trunk is the landscape I tread, my Box of Tricks, arts histories, my Make-Up Set, the degrees of shared curiosity and surprise, a cheeckful of tongue, the prerequisite of any humbled performer .
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I'm a painter of stretched canvases and boards, employing mainly acrylic paint on subjects including landscape, portraiture, still lives, narrative scenes , illustrations and abstract compositions.

Traditional fine arts college training in Italy. Practice in illustration. Employment in the graphic textile industry. Textile crafts

Mainly in groups exhibitions during h.Art Hereford Art Week.
