I want to make paintings that are an immediate response to the landscape; I enjoy and like to work expressively but with some representational roots. I find the fluidity and unpredictable nature of watercolour exciting ; my approach is to experiment and extend my understanding of the medium .
Gathering information, making black and white studies provides information for my work and back in the studio I endeavour to work energetically to re-discover and capture my memory and feelings.

I work predominantly in the studio but after many years of teaching I now give occasional talks to Artists Societies etc.

I am now solely concentrating on my own practice
