Details
Using the mediums dip pen, ink and watercolour, Jennifer focuses on capturing the character and spirit of her subjects in order to bring her drawings to life. She uses handmade paper, as its textured, earthy surface suits the nature and feel of her work. It also acts as the perfect base for both choices of mediums; the loose, unpredictable watercolour and the tight, scratchy lines of pen and ink.
Jack-in-the-Green Gallery is a collection of eco-friendly gifts and homeware featuring whimsical illustrations by artist Jennifer Chance. Living and working on the border of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire, Jennifer draws inspiration from the natural world around her. The subjects of her work include the wildlife, landscape and folklore of the British Isles. She is also a keen gardener and finds much inspiration in the vegetable patch; particularly in painting leafy green tops and sketching twisted roots, still clumped with fresh soil from the ground.
Jennifer's illustrations are available on an array of products, including cards, prints, tableware and kitchen textiles, and these are all produced with sustainabilty and environmental impact in mind.
