How would you describe the work you do and why?
My work is entirely handcrafted from silver (sheet and wire). I etch images onto the silver, from my photographs. Because these pieces of jewellery are all handcrafted, and originate from my photographs only, it makes each piece unique; one of a kind. Why do I do it: I’ve always created, crafted and played, using my hands. I returned to Art collage as a mature student in 2004, to finally learn how to work with metal, it had been a long awaited passion. I’m drawn to nature, wildlife, and also to architecture….so this is the basis of each pice of work. I make…because I can….because I love to…because I have to.
