How would you describe the work you do and why?:

My intention is for all ware to be both functional and a pleasure to use, handle and look at.
A plate should let the food speak for itself, then when it is empty what is left is a beautiful plate!
Mainly thrown and altered shapes from buff stoneware clay; pulled and rolled handles, some with texture; brushed, sponged & trailed slip decoration in blues & greens; with semi-matt and shiny glazes. Cups, mugs, plates & bowls, dishes, jugs, candleholders…
I do take commissions and special orders.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

The oportunity to explore ideas and shapes using the meduim of clay, and to create pots that give pleasure to the user.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

In an old cider cellar in Ledbury, I design & make thrown stoneware pottery for everyday and special use; inspired by cooking, storing and serving up wonderful food.
