Julian Meredith

How would you describe the work you do and why?:

Installation artist - working with a variety print methods and with the landscape

I transfer images directly from deceased fish, birds, mammals and insects which are found in the landscape in which I work - deer, geese, fish, voles, shrews etc.

I hand burnish to transfer prints from wood onto paper, inking to avoid filling in the wood grain. i use blue which is naturally transparent on unsized Japanese paper or thin textile.

Fish, birds, animals and insects, their relationship to their environment and to us is my main passion and subject matter. These things are my satellites and for me require serious consideration.
