How would you describe the work you do and why?: 

I have spent all of my working life throwing 'big ware', making terracotta garden pots . I make smaller stoneware ceramics and love the chemistry of making all my own glazes . The portrait heads are a transferable skill they are about volume and measurement and modelling in clay.

For you what does being an artist mean?: 

I have a skill and use it to make my living, I have the pottery studio and kilns to produce my own work independently.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?: 

I am a potter first and I like to paint and sculpt.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching: 

I run a regular Sunday morning class here in Knucklas 10 -12 noon.
