How would you describe the work you do and why?: 

Principally, I make pots for use. I like them to be warm and generous and complemented by good food and drink. I fire in two kilns, fuelled with wood and oil. One of these is used for salt glaze.

For you what does being an artist mean?: 

To communicate, to give joy.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?: 

Potter, inspired by European country ware and the Leach tradition.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching: 

I pot to a routine, and work alone. Though I no longer teach full-time, over the last few years, I have taught and given studio space to three potters at various stages in their careers .

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice: 

Fine Art (Sculpture) at university. Took up pottery as I began my thirty five year career in teaching. Full-time potter since 2007.
