Artwork for Mary Clayburn
Birch in sunshine
I am a multimedia artist working across the range of materials from traditional to natural such as dried flowers. . I studied textiles at Sheffield, when on to teach before working at a craft pottery. I find inspiration in the world around me and get satisfaction from upcycling materials.
Being an artist means seeing inspiration in the smallest flower and the concrete jungle and the wonder of everyday things.
I taught textiles before a career change and have since run the occasional workshop.
I studied textiles for 3 years and covered a range of skills including sowing, weaving, printing, dying and collage.
