h.Art September Open Studios event is cancelled, but you can still enjoy Herefordshire Artist's work

Check out the artists on the site who can still show and sell their work direct to you. We know the makers and creators who simply aren't going to be able to exhibit their work anywhere during this time will be incredibly grateful for any support the public can offer by contacting artists and galleries direct.

We look forward to getting back into action for h.Art 2021.

 Sat 4th - Sun 12th September 2021

Artist Notice Board

Herefordshire & close border artists, how to be shown on the hArt website...

Would you like an artist profile page on the h.Art website?

You can opt for an individual Artist Profile page on the h.Art website for £27 or £35.  Some adaptions have been made to the website and online forms, all Herefordshire and its close bordering artists (within 5 miles) can now have an individual online presence if you haven’t got one, and if you have, to give you another link to your own site. It will give you and the public another way to support each other through this difficult time and to keep the spirit of h.Art alive. Further details and instructions are on Notice Board 2

Details about the Artist Profile pages

What's changed on the site to help artists who couldn't open for h.Art?

The front end (or what the public see) has changed slightly. Instead of the EXPLORE button in the top navigation line there is an ARTISTS navigation button. After pressing that, you can search alphabetically by artist name as previously, or by Artform only.

What are your options?

This is open to any artist who lives or works in Herefordshire or it’s close borders (within 5 miles) and if you have been a regular h.Art exhibitor.

Option A - Artist pages would look as they do now with 4 images. This option includes your name, up to 2 artforms options (you wish to be searched by), phone, email, website and 4 images - cost £27

Option B - You can have more information about your practice and 8 images. This option includes a lot more information about you, to let people know more about you as an artist. – Cost £35. More info on Option B - The extra information is based on your answers to the following questions, they are all optional (you can miss some out if they are not applicable to you);

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?

How would you describe the work you do and why?

For you what does being an artist mean?

Your practice & activities include e.g. workshops, teaching

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice

Exhibitions in the last 3 years

Your gallery outlets/stockists

What do I need to do?

Email Mel to say you want to go ahead

Mel will set you up on the ‘new’ system and email you the bacs details for paying direct when you have completed your online form.

The system would email you with your login link (where you can also change the password to your own)

You would login and complete the online form choosing Option A or B, including uploading your 4 or 8 images

You would make a bacs payment to h.Artists Ltd with the details Mel has emailed to you.

Once Mel sees your payment go through, she will activate your form to make it live on the website.

You could change/update your images at any time by going back through to your form with your login.

An important note about the h.Art brand

We've had a few people asking if they can use the h.Art signage to organise their own mini event around the normal time of h.Art week. We understand and applaud your determination but h.Art cannot permit our signage to be used for this.

If you have taken part in the past and have h.Art signage, please be aware that this is a registered trademark with h.Artists Ltd. and cannot be used outside of the official Herefordshire Art Week Open Studio event, so not unless h.Artists can organise something last minute this year. This is to protect the professionalism and quality of the event and its future.

Also, as organisers we could get into trouble for unauthorised use of signage to promote an unofficial event. This could determine the future of h.Art as a whole, so by all means do what you need too, but not with our signage or inference that h.Art is involved in 2020.
