I make medium to large paintings inspired by the weather, landscape and sea. I work from studies painted on location 'En plein air' usually in wild and remote areas of Britain.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
For me the creation of artwork is an engagement with the natural world that transports, both emotionally and literally. I hope to capture something of the elevation of spirit that nature inspires, and share it with the viewer. It's a challenge.
