How would you describe the work you do and why?:
I love working with willow and creating functional baskets of all shapes and sizes. It is thrilling to start with a bundle of straight sticks and transform it into a basket. I am now exploring ways to combine various materials to add colour and texture into my baskets.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I am an Artist turned basketmaker.
CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:
I trained as a textile designer and have always been fascinated with construction and structure of fabric, which has led me to explore basketmaking and over the last 7 years I have been gradually learning the craft from Mary Bunney (Zammit). I am now working on my own and am continually learning new skills, and building up my knowledge of basketmaking techniques.
