How would you describe the work you do and why?:

My work is best described as semi abstract. I respond to all manner of things around me and am quite eclectic in that sense. Recently I saw the Lapidarium in Hereford Cathedral and this inspired 'Sprag'. Quite often my work has layers of meaning, so there is an immediacy but also a subtext.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist allows me to interpret my feelings, thoughts and reflections visually. It is the way I try to make sense of some 'bigger' questions in life! It means I get great enjoyment about tying ideas together that might at first seem disparate and it also implies that there are layers of interpretation or narratives in most of my work.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a practising fine artist and specialise in printmaking and painting.
