Wigmore Church Gathering
Meet the artists with music and performance.
Wigmore Church is a beautiful building, with a history spanning back a thousand years. There is herringbone walling of about the time of the Norman Conquest (1066) and in 1100 it was a Minister Church having four priests who were responsible for the churches at Leinthall Starkes, Aston and Elton.
This exhibition will bring together the work of the following artists :-
Kate Green wanders and wonders in the local landscape, drawing from archeological artefacts, social history and academic research. Exploring across disciplines (music and performance, drawing and sculpture) but with story at its heart, her work is shared with a playful touch. At the Water’s Edge presents a musical map of Glacial Lake Wigmore.
Emily Gaunt has 76 oil studies of rivers ,mainly the Teme, Lugg, Arrow and Wye .They were painted on the rivers edge studying patterns in light and reflections throughout the seasons. There is also a herd of stoneware cattle, modelled in the field with the cows , glazed and wood fired. The installation work is yet to be revealed
