Clare Conrad Ceramics

Description:

Stoneware ceramics - wheel-thrown with unique decoration exploring colour and texture. Inspiration from weathered surfaces and dramatic land and seascapes. Fellow of the Craft Potters Association, work in collections world-wide. I have recently settled in Kington and 2018 will be my first 'open studio'.

I have been experimenting with applying vitreous slips for many years. These are formed from raw materials, with primary colour stains mixed and intermixed to give an infinite palette of subtle colours. My fine-walled pots are meticulously thrown and turned with high quality clay: I enjoy combining traditional making methods with innovative surface application.
