How would you describe the work you do and why?

My inspiration comes from nature and the elements. Blending these elements to produce an emotional synergy, evoking a sense of contemplation, discovery and ultimately hope. ‘An exploration of light, atmosphere and emotion’

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist for me is a means of making sense of the beauty and also turmoil of the world we live in. The creative process provides me with a sanctuary, a way to escape from the clutter of modern life.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a self taught artist, working mainly in oils. I have an instinctive, gestural approach to painting, using texture as a base to create living, breathing ‘mindscapes’

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

Currently painting is my sole practice, but since moving into a large studio space I hope to eventually provide workshops in oils and self expression.
