Details
How would you describe the work you do and why?
The work I have been engaged in is two-dimensional, using mixed media, and leaning towards Pop Art: a reaction to the media, advertising and aspects of our culture - often trite, banal and obscure. This work is for my own benefit.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
For me, being an artist means being interested in a wide range of subject matter, current and historical, and making work which reflects those interests, using instinct and intuition. Random elements may also play a part.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I produce figurative pieces of art, drawing on many sources. The work I will be showing at this venue has, in the main, been completed over the past 15 years.
