How would you describe the work you do and why?

At the heart of my designs is a belief that beauty doesn’t need to be complicated. I’m drawn to clean lines, practical shapes, and thoughtful construction. Each bag is designed to be functional and durable, made to be used and loved every day rather than kept for special occasions. I focus on strong structure, neat finishing, and carefully considered proportions so that the overall design feels calm and balanced.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

It means taking inspiration from places that feel peaceful to me, such as the coast or countryside, and transforming them into something practical and beautiful. There is a quiet satisfaction in turning flat cloth into a three-dimensional, useful object.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I work under the name Lowe Studio creating handmade textile bags and accessories.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I have no formal training in textiles or sewing. Everything I know has come from curiosity, experimentation, mistakes, and persistence. I began by teaching myself the fundamentals; studying construction, testing techniques, unpicking seams, and learning through doing. Over time, that hands-on exploration shaped not only my skills but also my design philosophy. Being self-taught has allowed me to develop an intuitive, practical approach, guided more by feel and function than by trends or rules.
