How would you describe the work you do and why?

My methodology comes from combining materials, allowing me to explore their materiality and give certain themes within the work different types of agency. I create characters and work with narrative as a way to examine sometimes uncomfortable themes objectively. Through participation I invite the viewer to examine their own emotional landscape in how they themselves connect to the work. I want to offer a space of reflection and healing.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

My arts practice is an evolving space of reflection, through artistic research I continue to focus on how I can bring the viewer deeper into the narrative. In doing so I am continuing to explore spaces that generate emotional knowledge; and perhaps give agency to a sense of self that is tacit and primal.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a multidisciplinary artist, working across sculpture, installation, costume, sound and performance. I work with ideas around kinaesthetic practices and explore ways to encourage interaction. I often focus on character creation and storytelling to pursue the themes within my work. My themes include transition, personal growth and childlike curiosity. I use folklore as an anchor for my personal myth-making.
