How would you describe the work you do and why?
My ceramics feature underglaze and sgraffito illustrations celebrating the wildlife, heritage, and landscape of Wales. I work primarily in stoneware and crank clays to create both functional homewares and whimsical sculptures.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I am a potter and illustrator.
Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:
I help to run the pottery studio at Cabalva Ceramics, supporting the organisation of our one-off workshops and termly courses. This is also where I teach handbuilding, surface decoration, and botanical pottery workshops.
CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:
My degree was in Museum Studies and Archaeology so I have spent most of my working life in the museums sector. I have been lucky to work with incredible art and ceramic collections through my various roles, which have provided inspiration for my own practice. As an artist, I am mostly self-taught, with guidance from many generous artists along the way through short courses.
