How would you describe the work you do and why?

My work is varied in style depending on how I feel, but it mostly falls into geometric or street art style abstract. My emotions and energy at the time lead the painting. Sometimes this creates a soft and serene painting but most often I create something lively, colourful and textured, built up through layers, shapes and clean lines.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist means I can express myself and release energy and emotions in private, but later share it with the world if I choose to. It can make me feel vulnerable but also builds my trust and confidence with others. It’s almost a form of socialising, but with time to reflect and control myself that I sometimes struggle to do in general interactions and conversations!

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I’m an intuitive abstract artist mainly using acrylic paints to create 2D paintings on canvas but some of my work includes textiles such as fabric buttons.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

My practice is private at present.
