How would you describe the work you do and why?

I enjoy the feltmaking process of turning raw wool fibres into something beautiful, be it 2D or 3D. The feltmaking process is so versatile, it can be structural, 3D or 2D. I am a member of the International Feltmakers Association, and have been inspired by and contributed to the advancement of the craft on the International stage.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist means that I can imagine an article and have the skills to make it.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

Apart from selling my things (my husband said I would have to sell my felts or we would have to hire a warehouse to put them in!) I also do several workshops a year. I enjoy teaching the skills.

Exhibitions in the last 3 years:

I exhibit with the Herefordshire Guild of designer makers, including the Spring RHS show at Malvern, the Three Choirs festival (which takes place at the three cathedrals of Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester in a cycle) The Autumn show at the Three Counties Royal showground and Ledbury Christmas show. I have also exhibited at Croome court national trust property and with the Arts market in Hereford.
