How would you describe the work you do and why?

I enjoy the imperfections in objects, though not with any forced intention, I love to make things that are unique in their appearance or texture, that also might have some beautiful imperfections. I handbuild, using hand rolled coils, and I work with coarse crank clay. This type of clay enables me to create the varied texture on individual items as I blend my hand rolled coils using either my thumb or fingertip. I will never be able create two things the same, and that, for me, is what I love. 'Hold The Light' is a title that came to me whilst handbuilding my candle holders... creating something unique and special to hold the light of a candle. I love candle light, and having a beautiful candle holder, in which to place the candle, adds to the ceremony that candle light offers.
