The Pocket Pirate

I am a craftsperson, a hoarder, an observer, a beachcomber. This manifests in a desire to restore status to the neglected, rejected or overlooked. I use reclaimed fabric and leather for my handmade bags, wallets and purses; pre-loved belts become bag straps, distinctive buttons are rescued from forgotten tins. This amalgamation of rediscovered elements offers an intriguing puzzle for myself as the maker and instils my work with an essence of revival. Each piece becomes a joyful reincarnation of the disregarded or half-forgotten, so is completely unique.

Displayed for sale will be a varied collection of handbags, coin purses, wallets, cushions & fabric badges.

My collection of drawings are a thread in parallel to my craftwork. They are a personal investigation of imagination, storytelling and an attempt to tentatively unravel how our own individual stories fit into the world.

I will have a collection of original artworks, prints and cards available to buy, alongside a number of my original sketchbooks for viewing.
