MATT REES & VERITY HOWARD
This exhibition at Canwood Gallery explores the parallels between the art practices of Matt Rees and Verity Howard. Both artists are inspired by the rural landscape and convey a sense of space, mystery and atmosphere in their work. Matt is a photographer who describes his work as ‘rural topographics’ exploring place, time and existence. Verity is an artist who uses clay as a medium for drawing and monoprinting to create sculptural, slab built, ceramic forms. Walking and experiencing their local environment is important to both artists who live and work in Hereford.
Canwood Gallery is a charity gallery exhibiting thought provoking art within the beautiful and inspiring countryside of Herefordshire. Their profits are donated to St Barts Medical research.
