How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I work mainly in stoneware clay, wheel thrown and hand-built ,making domestic ware and sculpture, with a Japanese and medieval influence. I have a love for industry which i try to include with in my work using hand dug clay and minerals from industrial sites near my home to enhance the clay and glazing. I mainly fire in a reduction atmosphere which exaggerates the surface of the finished work.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

I feel privileged being an artist, or cursed. Because it means i have to create. A yearning everyday, whether making, painting or gardening I have to create.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a professional ceramic artist who works mainly in stoneware clay. I create work that rebels against the endless cacophony of mass-produced products that are increasingly permeating our world. I use a variety of techniques to produce my pottery and constantly explore various ways of improving my work.
