How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I would describe my work as bold and political. Mostly. The exhibition I will be presenting at the Ferrie is an introduction to my eye, I hope that people will then wish to explore my other work, the portraits, the politics and learn something about the world.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist is everything. I have always been an artist. It is a way to connect and to engage and open people’s eyes to something new.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I primarily draw under the name Magpie. I am a mature, queer artist who explores gender expression and sexuality, mostly. I also enjoy engaging with the environment round me. I work on Procreate and adore exploring the possibilities of this piece of software. It allows me to be anywhere and create.
