How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I design and create lampshades from plant-fibre paper and reclaimed maps. I incorporate linocut printing and applique into my designs, so no two are the same. I love to make functional art so each lamp is an artwork that changes the ambience in a room. I ensure that each is as interesting when switched off as it is when illuminated. Wall lights and half-shade table lamps are my speciality.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

I love the freedom to create, to experiment and the joy of making a product from scratch. I'm currently having fun combining mediums, bringing together my handprinted linocuts and my signature technique of paper reverse applique in one design.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I'm a contemporary lampshade designer maker

Your gallery outlets/stockists:
