How would you describe the work you do and why?:

I would describe my work as painterly realism, I want the animal to be easily recognised, but have an artistic feel to it. I aim is to capture the character of each animal, to try and portray their personality.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist for me, is being able to give someone a memory and a feeling of an animal they love, be it wild or domestic. Animals are a true part of the family for many people and admired by most, it is an honour to be able to capture them on paper.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am an animal portrait artist, using Gouache paint on hot pressed water colour paper.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

Currently I take commissions and do original work. However I would love to teach and have workshops in the future.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

I have always loved painting, and have been lucky enough to have gone full time in 2020. I am self taught and always learning.
