Details
Inspiration comes from colour, shape and form. It is usually a flower, or a dead leaf which has curled or a simple buttercup – that is where the inspiration begins.
We are all connected in this life and we intertwine. We pass each other by, we smile or frown, but in the passing we leave behind a ghost of a connection. We spin and weave our way through life - head down or head up- and sometimes there it is, a colour; a shape; a promise, and a recognition
I have been painting my whole life - mostly in my head and now I am able to paint on a daily basis. My life has lightened and expanded since I now have my studio space. I have made my own space where I feel comfortable and secure. I am able to think and to practice my art. It is a wonderful life.
Rose Norman - M.A. - Abstract Floral Artist
My practice involves daily trips to my studio, through a grave yard. It is the most wonderful graveyard. I read the names and the details of people who have walked this earth before me - they are a grounding and a connection. This inspires me. I attend two workshops a week . They are held in village halls and I get to paint with like minded people. We interconnect, we discuss and debate.
My education happened a long time ago. We never stop learning. When I was 60 I went to Hereford Art college to do an H.N.D. course, and from there I went to Gloucester University to do my Masters degree. I then stopped painting and ran a business with my husband. After covid I
changed my way of life. I paint almost every day.
