I use fabrics, hand and free machine embroidery and mixed media to make art with lots of visual texture.
For me, art is a medium for making slightly abstracted representations of the natural world - particularly seascapes, landscapes, trees and flowers. It's also a powerful way to make social comment on issues that incense me - from poverty and injustice in the UK to the effects of the climate crisis on the natural world and the wildlife that depends on it.
I am a textile artist.
I'm part of the Sage Collective - a group of six textile artists living in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire who meet monthly and exhibit together.
Member of Wye Valley Stichers and Textile Artists.
