How would you describe the work you do and why?:

Growing and weaving willow is very rewarding. You get to plant the willow, watching it grow until its ready to harvest and make into something beautiful.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Being an artist means I have the freedom to create and imagine as much as I please.
I get to try out different techniques and weaves to make something individual to me.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I practice willow weaving in many forms.
I make willow coffins, baskets, structures and hurdles to list a few.
I also grow over 60 different varieties of willow in Doldowlod which I use to make all these wonderful things!

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I run workshops to make Bird Feeders, Berry Baskets, Conicals and much more!
We hold planting days, where keen weavers can come along to plant some willow and learn all about it. From planting to harvesting to soaking the willow before using it to weave a basket.
