Although my degree is in General Illustration, I do not consider myself an Illustrator. I have a long standing love for collagraph printmaking, but after a decade of working in a very controlled and detailed way, I found myself wanting more. For recent pieces I have brought painting and printmaking together through collage, but there is still more I want to explore. Painted details in my work are based around nature and wildlife and my collagraph printmaking aims to bring a physicality from the local landscape.
Being an artist for me feels like a responsibility to conceptualise, translate, and communicate through a variety of mediums, in ways that will make a difference to the world. It is working to create beautiful things, facilitate creativity in others, and offer visual stimulation and appreciation to those that need it.
A printmaker / painter striving to engage with people, the world, and the natural environment.
Currently my time is divided between creating artwork to exhibit and sell at 'The Artists' Gallery', Ludlow (an artists' cooperative I am a member of, located at the site of Ludlow Farmshop) and delivering therapeutic art sessions for teenagers attending Longlands Care Farm.
