How would you describe the work you do and why?:

My drawings are rooted in the landscape of Herefordshire and Shropshire. I make studies in the open air, which I later use to construct images back in the studio; and so my work is as much about the experience of the landscape as the landscape itself.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

The art is, for me, a crucible of curiosity.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

Sculptor and draughtsman

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

Throughout my career as a figure sculptor and draughtsman, I have taught both drawing and sculpture, facilitated experimental workshops and worked in schools. I am currently involved, in my role as Trustee of the Royal Society of Sculptors, professional development and creating exhibition opportunities for members of the Society.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

Manchester University and City and Guilds of London Art School. Since graduation, I have completed over 250 (life-size or over) commissions for figure sculpture, in both the private and public realms. I have also exhibited sculpture and performance with Meadow Arts.

July 2023: 'Wander_Land', Tremenheere Sculpture Gallery, Penzance
March 2023: 'On the Edge', Espacio Gallery, London
December 2022: Studio show of figure studies
