I use wax, found objects, text, stitch, plaster and photography, but my favourite medium is wax. It is the scaffold of my practice. I use it to express notions of fragility and preservation. I love it for its translucence, for its uncontrollability, for the fact that I can paint, make scratchy drawings or sculpt with it. I am interested in hiding and revealing, remembering and forgetting - the internal landscape made manifest. And since lockdowns and enforced retreats to the garden, I have become a bit obsessed with trees.
It is what I am. It means showing up in the studio, and on the very best of days it means not worrying what anyone else thinks, but doing it anyway.
I work from my own STUDIO Gallery in Bromyard. I am a multi-disciplinary artist.
