Hand built functional ware, tactile design. Simplicity is key, clean lines, with the hint of the makers touch throughout. Designed to be used and routinely held.
Having found ceramics after years of drawing and painting, ceramics presented me with a new realm of possibilities. My work is currently centred around hand-built functional ware, refining each piece multiple times during the creation process. A mug is simple, yet the variations are endless. Once I have designed a piece which proves to be durable and ergonomic, I will try numerous alterations, creating a thread between my body of work. I pay close attention to detail with my functional ware, as I hold the user in mind throughout the creation process. My work is designed to be tactile; used routinely every day.
