How would you describe the work you do and why?:

My work is a mixture of the simple, a single sheet of paper and the complicated, intricate and sometimes minute cutting away of the paper. A simple scalpel is used together with the complicated entangled lines of a drawing and the sometimes perplexing decisions of what to cut away and what to leave. I love this process.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

For me this process means an escape into a world of meditative concentration. Hours are spent drawing and cutting each piece which leads to an intimate examination and connection with individual parts of nature, its shape and form, each angle and curve, parts that we would only normally fleetingly look at. This concentration and dedication to doing something I find a pleasurable and fulfilling expression of my creative self together with producing something that is pleasing to look at is what being an artist is about.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a papercut artist
