Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I am a couture milliner, creating fun and flirty hats and headpieces, all with a distinctive vintage inspired twist, with every piece handmade to order in my Herefordshire studio.

In addition I also work as a nature photographer, illustrator and printmaker.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I regularly give demonstrations on the methods and history of millinery to various groups including craft groups and WIs, and have been fortunate enough to have provided workshops to schools for children of various ages. Soon I will also be hosting millinery workshops to small groups in my Herefordshire studo.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

After originally planning to pursue either a career in fashion or costume design, I fell into the world of millinery by accident. During a gap year spent at Hereford College of Arts, I decided to enrol in a Millinery course hosted by the college next door. During my enrolment, I was awarded the Commercial Appeal Award by the Worshipful Company of Feltmakers during their prestigious annual Feltmakers Design Awards. Following the completion of my study, with the help and support of the Prince's Trust, I launched my own label in 2022.

Exhibitions in the last 3 years:

In 2022, I gained associate membership to the Herefordshire Guild of Craftsmen, with whom I exhibit at a variety of events around the country, including RHS Malvern Spring Festival, Three Choirs Festival and Malvern Autumn Festival.
